I received some questions about my hair in the Valentine’s Day glam look post. So, here’s a quick post on that. I’ll post a tutorial down the road on how to create the perfect, tousled, waves soon, hopefully!
I find that day old or a couple day’s old hair is the best for a curly or wavy look. Otherwise, there are more flyaways and less hold in my mane. To create the volume, we did a little teasing around my part and a few layers below to get that volume and body-make sure you’re not just teasing the top, because the top layer needs support from the lower layers to stay hyped! To hold the tease and give it a kind of disheveled/sex hair look, Tamar used AG Hair Care Dry Wax throughout my strands. She took different sections and curled in varying directions to continue adding body. FYI: if you curl each section in the same direction, you can end up with one singular, giant curl on each side of your head. We don’t want that!
Pro Tip: Use a 1.5″ barrel for larger, looser curls that look more like waves.
After each strand was curled, we sprayed some Tresemmé hairspray and let my hair sit for a minute to cool down. When it was cool, Tamar finger brushed my hair to tousle the curls and give them that unkept, sexy look. Finish with some more hairspray, if needed, and you’re ready to go!
I ended up sleeping in this look, and it still looked cute the next day-just a little more tousled. I absolutely look voluminous, loose curls. It’s such an easy, sexy look that enhances any outfit. Honestly, true happiness is a good hair day, haha!
I’ve linked some of the products we used below, and I linked some options for curling wands, because I couldn’t find the exact one we used. If you want to look for it, it’s the Revlon curling wand-super affordable! But, there are some great options below.
