As the weather is warming up in the DMV area, I find myself wanting and pushing myself to spend more time outside being active. I feel like I forever have a deficiency in vitamin D, so when the heat of the sun’s rays hits my skin, it’s seriously intoxicating, like drugs to an addict! “Hello, my name is Sarah, and I’m addicted to sunshine and summertime,” lol! With that motivation to exercise comes the desire to dress cute when doing so! We all know that gym style is a major motivating factor in actually getting us to physically go and achieve our gym goals. So, I was really excited when I partnered with C’est Moi Clothing to try out their lifestyle clothing. In my mind, I’m thinking This is perfect timing, because I’m trying to introduce new workout clothes to pep up that exercise dedication!

So, what do I think of the clothes and what are my standards? Great questions. Personally, and I’ll talk more about this in another post, I’m a cardio junkie. Do I like it? No, I struggle, cuss worse than a sailor, and sweat like ice in the desert the entire time. But, I feel the biggest rush of endorphins after accomplishing workouts that I hate the most. There’s something about pushing your body in those moments where you’re so deep in the struggle that you just want to stop and give in to giving up, but you don’t, and you start to realize the amount of ferocity and carnal strength that you have is more than you give yourself credit for. These are the moments that keep me coming back to a more cardio-focused regimen. I feel like the greatest change comes from the moments where you’re at your breaking point and struggling the most; true strength is found in weakness, ironically. All that being said, I mostly focus on endurance and stamina, but I balance with some yoga/pilates/hiit-more lighter weight training routines. If I’m being honest, I focus more on cardio too, because with having Lyme, a blood disease, and a slew of infections, symptoms have included joint and muscle pain, fatigue, and respiratory issues, to name a few. So, I’m working to try and build back endurance and stamina-hence the cardio I’m viciously attacking. With the muscle and joint pain, it’s hard to lift or put pressure on different joints, so weight training is still a big challenge. But, I love being an underdog and thrive when I’m up against the ropes, so sorry I’m not sorry Lyme, I KNOW I’m going to have a fitness breakthrough. I’ll keep you guys more up-to-date with my health and some remedies that have helped aid my recovery in later posts.

And FINALLY, my thoughts on the clothes! Sorry, but every good climax needs suspense and backstory, geesh 😉 With trying to be mobile and active, I’ve found that, for example, certain leggings would slide down and expose more than the small of my back, let’s just say. How annoying is it to have to stop every few seconds to yank up your waistband to the point of wedgie domination, just to give yourself a few extra minutes of proper legging placement?! That’s no way to live, people! With my C’est Moi leggings, I have no clue what that feels like anymore. They stay secure and in place regardless of activity level. Not to mention, the front tie top is so soft, breathable, and flexible, allowing me to maneuver without any restraint. I think another aspect of their clothing that I’ve loved is the fact that a lot of their clothing is so versatile. You can wear the oversized knit over your workout gear, or you can wear it over a bralette and some denim. It really adds style and comfort to whatever activity you’re wearing it for.

I love and basically live in my C’est Moi lifestyle clothes these days, and I’ll definitely be buying more to jazz up my workout and everyday style. Thank you for spending time with me in my closet this week, but it’s now time to put my workout style to use-it’s a beautiful 70-something-degree day today, and I feel obligated in the best kind of way to be outside. So, have a fantastic week, babes, and I’ll see you in the closet soon.

XO,

Sarah
