What a week, guys! For starters, we’re finally unpacked and moved in to our new place, which was exhausting but so exciting to be done with all of the unpacking and organizing. Then, we get hit with that crazy snowstorm on the first day of spring-what’s up with that cruel welcome, spring?! Then, I get super sick this past weekend and am down for the count! Thankfully, I’m feeling a little better today so that I can finally upload this post for you guys!

Also, PSA: If you guys have any content requests, I’m ALWAYS game!

I’ve had a few requests, which is super exciting, because it means my blog is getting views and resonating with some people, YAY! So, I have some fun reader-requested posts coming at you guys soon!

For this week, I wanted to share with you guys some of my favorite maxis and ways to style it while we’re still in that weird transitional winter/spring phase. This dress I’m wearing is SO affordable, and it’s perfect for cooler spring days. Side note: You’ll notice, and I’ll talk more about this when I do some blog layout changes, but I dress for my mood. I think most women would agree that they do the same. I’m a creative, expressive person, and I believe our appearance and attire are external presentations of ourselves and our personality, so you ought to dress your mood, so to speak. So, I’ve provided a few options to style the maxi depending on your mood.

First, you have the statement leather jacket that should hold a spot in EVERY girl’s closet. If you don’t have one, don’t tell me-just buy one…now. You’re welcome. A simple leather jacket adds edge to a dainty floral pattern. For girls like me who don’t typically like dressing too feminine and modest, I love throwing a leather jacket over soft or feminine patterns. Not to mention, the jacket obviously provides warmth and can be easily removed when the sun starts creating that unflattering sweat stash that I KNOW you all know what I mean!

Secondly, for these chillier days, you cad throw a simple cable knit sweater over your maxi for a laid back style. Your maxi then turns into a “maxi skirt,” but nobody knows you’re rocking the long sleeves under the sweater to keep you nice and toasty. The trick to this is picking the right neckline that will camouflage your maxi’s neckline. Pick a higher neckline sweater for a maxi dress that rides up towards your neck, like this one I’m wearing. Otherwise, if you don’t hide the maxi underneath, it looks sloppy. So, picking the right sweater is key and will depend on the maxi underneath.

Finally, this maxi can obviously be worn alone on a slightly chilly spring day due to the fabulous long sleeves. This dress is perfect for in-between seasons like spring and fall. The sleeves can easily be rolled up when you’re warm, too. The high slit and rayon fabric are light and perfect for looking fresh and chic on these soon-to-be mild spring days.

I love pairing high-slit maxis with over-the-knee (otk) boots for extra warmth, but it’s also an added chic factor when you throw in the otk boot versus a simple wedge. It’s more of a statement, in my opinion. But, of course, if you’re too warm wear a wedge, or add some more edge and sass with a pointed toe slingback, perhaps! Then, pair it with a simple belt, clutch, and fun sunnies and you’ve got yourself the perfect spring outfit. Depending on how you style the maxi, your accessories should either be silent complements, or they can be the IT factor-your mood dictates!

I’ve linked what I’m wearing and some of my other favorite transitional maxis. Be on the lookout for another blog post this week to continue our head-to-toe wedding look series, which I’m suer excited about! Well, I guess that’s it for me today. Happy Monday, babes. May the force be with you to get your through the week and into our next weekend! See you in my closet later this week 🙂

PS-Again, if you have content requests, let me know! I want to write about what YOU’RE interested in. What benefits you, can benefit so many people who want to ask/oR want to know about that topic, too!

XO,

Sarah
