When you look good, you feel good, and this look gives you allll the feels, girl. I teamed up with Tamar C Makeup (TCM) to create the perfect romantic look that enhances your natural beauty. Tamar, the owner of TCM, and I decided to go with a sultry eye that pops against bronzed skin and a subtle lip for the perfect V-Day glam look. This look draws attention to the eyes, which is my personal go-to when glamming up my look. I’m obsessed with the gold lid that she created, which paired so perfectly with the glow she gave to my skin! Personally, I love a smokey that uses minimal black-I often opt for varying shades of brown or this gold with a hint of darkness, because you still get the smokey effect without a harsh, startling contrast.
I was in makeup heaven, peeking into Tamar’s stacks on stacks of beauty calvary. As we discussed the look we were going for, Tamar gave me some great pro tips that I had to share with my readers!
Tip #1: If you’re worried about looking “clowny,” make the heavy eye the focal point-complement it with glowing skin and a soft lip.
Tip #2: When creating the smokey eye, play with color! You don’t have to stick to the super darks and black. Try adding a darker color only to the outer corner, while keeping the rest of the lid lighter.
Tip #3: Apply eyeshadow lightly on your lids, because you can always go more dramatic. So, don’t be afraid to play with color and finding the level of dramatic you’re comfortable with. If you’re used to a traditional black smokey eye, try playing with shades of a brown for your next date night. Then, maybe play with another color, and so on. You create a great smokey eye with virtually any color!
Tip #4: When applying foundation for this look or any look, use a beauty blender. It’s perfect for creating a light, even application of any product. Don’t be afraid to play with it!
